NCD End Station
The concept of the end station layout is described.
The guard slits, sample table and the mica window assembly that serves as the entrance to the X-ray flight tube need to move along floor rails inside the Experimental Hutch as the optical layout focuses in one plane 40.5 m downstream from the source. It is expected that the floor rials with associated bearings, etc should be surveyed into place in April 2010.
Below is shown a schematic representation of the sample table, X-ray flight tube and the detector table.
