Installation of the Liquid Nitrogen Cryo-Cooler
In November 2009 the cryo-cooler,the system has been delivered by Bruker Advanced Supercon. passed its Site Acceptance Test, so called SAT. In January 2010, the cooler together with the DCM system were commissioned without beam. A range of liquid pump frequencies were identified that allows the whole system to operate without exciting resonance frequencies in the mechanical assembly of the crystals. Below is shown a picture of the monochromator system, the cryo transfer lines and the cryo-cooler itself in its final position viewed from the Front End wall of the Optics hutch.
