BOREAS - Photos of the installation of the main beamline components
27/1/2010
After a long travel by boat from Toyama's factory in Japan, the boxes containing all the main beamline components (PM/TM mirror chamber, monochromator, entrance and exit slits and various diagnostics elements) arrive at ALBA!
First the truck is unloaded ...
... and then the boxes are transferred to the beamline

First week of installation by Toyama!
Unpacking of the boxes
Installation of the PM-TM chamber inside the optics hutch:
first the ion pump support
... then the ion pump ...
and finally the mirror chamber flies as well!

Second and third weeks of installation
Installation of the exit slits ...
... while, somewhere in the optics lab, the mirrors of the beamline are being qualified with the long trace profiler
29/2/2010 - 6/3/2010
Fourth week of installation
Almost everything installed apart from the monochromator!
The entrance slit completes the hutch
8/3/2010 - 21/3/2010
Fifth and sixth weeks of installation
The monochromator goes to its position ...
... while outside ...
22/3/2010-24/3/2010
Last days of mechanical installation. The monochromator is left ready for bakeout.
27/4/2010-14/5/2010
Installation of the optical elements PM, TM, SM1, SM2 and LEG inside the PM-TM and the monochromator chambers.
