The consortium for Construction, Equipment and Exploitation of the Synchrotron Light Laboratory (CELLS) is jointly funded by the Spanish State Government through its Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia (Ministry of Education and Science) and the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Autonomous Government) through its Departament d’Universitats, Recerca i Societat de la Informació (Department of Universities, Research and Information Society).
The consortium will construct and operate the Synchrotron Light Facility, named ALBA, in the Barcelona area (Valles Occidental). This is one of the most exciting Research Projects currently undertaken in Spain.

The electronics and instrumentation section consists of 10 permanent staff members. The section will be part of the computing and electronics division with its 40 staff member.
- The candidate will participate in the design of two experimental stations (beamlines) in the ALBA accelerator. He will participate in the definition of cables, instrumentation and layout for those experiments. Afterwards, he will be in charge of the maintenance and upgrades of the beamlines.
- He will develop PLC programs for different applications.
- 3 years university degree in electronics engineering, or equivalent. Exceptionally vocational training (Formacion Profesional in Spain) will be accepted if the candidate demonstrates large experience in the field.
- Experience in instrumentation.
- Experience in soldering, mounting
- Experience in programming PLCs.
- Good interpersonal skills and capabilities to work in group as well as to work independently for some periods of time.
- The working language at ALBA is English. A good level of English both written and spoken will be considered as an asset.
