The seminar will present an outline of recent research activities in the field of materials science using soft x-resonant scattering methods. The examples will illustrate the use of magnetic resonant reflectivity, non-specular scattering and spectroscopy techniques in the characterization of materials such as magnetic multilayers and thin film oxides. Opportunities for research using these techniques in the study of non-magnetic materials will be also discussed.
