ABSTRACT:
The Matlab Middle Layer (MML) was developed to provide a fast, easy-to-use interface between the accelerator control console and machine. Based on a command syntax that mimics many accelerator simulation programs, MML allows the user to opearte the light source and perform complex measurements with minimum effort. A library of low-level function and suite of high-level application programs are available for both commiss- ioning and day-to-day operations. Built-in feautres include a 'switch' between operational and simulation mode, automatic data storage and retrieval, and facilities to automactically analyze and contrl machine performance. In this talk we review the central features of the MML and provide examples of how MML can be used during machine commissioning.
