On 25th and 26th of April, Barcelona turned into a laboratory with the aim of making young and adult living science, technology and innovation in first person.
The ALBA Synchrotron was in charge of one activity on Saturday 25th April, called "A light to see the invisible". During the activity, participants were able to complete a large poster of the electromagnetic spectrum for exploring and learning about the different type of electromagnetic waves and which of them belong to synchrotron light. To show them how we manipulate synchrotron light at the beamlines, demonstrations were also performed with a light box using mirrors to change the beam trajectory.
NOVUM is an initiative of the Barcelona council to get in contact citizenship, researchers, artists and entrepreneurs inside a framework of activities for all publics. The ALBA Synchrotron has participated for second year in a row, showing synchrotron-based science to a hundred of people approximately.
