The new microfocus beamline for macromolecular crystallography will contribute to a better understanding of complex biological systems, with academic and industrial applications. The beamline is planned to be ready for first experiments in early 2020. It will cost about 7 million € and will be cofunded with ERDF funds.
The call for proposals for the 2016-II cycle is opened till 29 February. The results are expected to be published in the second half of May. This call includes the new beamline devoted to infrared microspectroscopy, MIRAS.
These nanoscale magnetic structures have been observed at room temperature in materials compatible with industrial conditions. This breaks an important barrier for their use as nanoscale information carriers in our computers. Results - obtained at the CIRCE beamline - have been published in Nature Nanotechnology.
