Cerdanyola del Vallès, 8th March 2023 The second edition of 'Ciència en Colors' took place last February and led the ALBA Synchrotron to visit 6 school located at the towns of Cerdanyola del Vallès, Barberà del Vallès and Barcelona. In total, more than 280 teenagers have participated in this educational project consisting of two workshops in the classrooms, which are conducted by scientists from ALBA and an educator from the Eduxarxa cooperative.
In them, in addition to emphasizing the diversity of profiles and tasks needed to run a scientific facility such as ALBA, various dynamics were carried out in order to think with young people on the inequalities experienced by certain collectives (women, racialized persons, LGBTQ+ people, etc.). The goal of 'Ciència en Colors' is to raise awareness of the importance of having a diverse scientific community.
Beyond promoting scientific vocations, with this project ALBA wants to bring science closer to the schools from a more social point of view; emphasizing the importance of everyone becoming involved in science, as it affects us as people who are part of the society.
