The development of the nanostructure outside of equilibrium conditions of soft materials defines both the macroscopic morphology and the properties of the final product. X-ray scattering techniques, in transmission and grazing angle mode, are essential tools to understand the structure-property relationship of complex systems where several physical and chemical factors are interconnected in a concomitant fashion.

While X-ray scattering techniques provide a full structural view, they lack of chemical, conformational and mechanical sensitivity. Thus coupling X-rays with complementary techniques is vital for soft matter science. In this contribution I will present our efforts to develop advanced simultaneous multitechniques approaches to study physical and chemical phenomena in a broad range of soft matter including polymer crystallization, polymer phase separation, reactive polymer processing, polymer processing under industrial conditions and supramolecular self-assembly in bulk, solution and thin films.
