This year's line-up includes: prominent scientists and thinkers from multiple disciplines ranging from physics, astronomy, life sciences and health, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, energy and climate, food, water, education, among others.

CERN has held a total of three editions of TEDx events. TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design.
