ALBA Synchrotron
We are delighted to announce the "RI-PATHS participatory workshop", which will hosted at ALBA on the 28th of November from 9:00h-15:00h.
The workshop will provide a mix of impressions from practice, round-table discussions and opportunities to deliver input to a project with the express purpose on informing the European Commission on future options of framing their demands concerning impact assessment.
The objectives of the workshop are the next ones:
- Develop a logical model that describes the socio-economic impact of the research infrastructures.
- Refine and substantiate initial conceptual framework for IA model
- Generate a shared understanding on the main impact pathways
As research infrastructures face rising expectations to fulfil not just their missions but also contribute to the overall development of their regions and countries, the EU funded RI-PATHS project aims at developing a model describing the socio-economic impact of research infrastructures (RIs) and their related financial investments. The need for socio-economic impact assessment can no longer be ignored as more and more high-level policy makers align scientific, economic and societal level side by side on the same level (cf. European Commission, 2018).
