The new ALBA II project foresees transforming ALBA from 3rd to 4th generation synchrotron, through the upgrade of the source and its instrumentation, creating a facility able to support the community with state-of-the-art capabilities, necessary to tackle the grand challenges of the 21st century.

In this frame, during the workshop on “hard X-rays for coherent, time-resolved and imaging experiments at ALBA II” experts in the field will present pressing challenges and cutting-edge techniques addressing these challenges, describing its fundamentals, instrumentation, data collection and analysis. These talks will be followed by a round table with open questions, to discuss ideas and requirements towards the future of ALBA, where we invite you as part of the existing or potential user community to participate in shaping the future of ALBA II facility.

The main objective of the workshop will be to describe the pressing scientific and technological problems and challenges that we will need to solve in the coming years and to identify key technologies or services which will be essential for ALBA II to support the users mission.
