ICN2 proudly presents Albert Fert, from the Unité Mixte de Physique CNRS/Thales and Emeritus Professor at Université Paris-Sud, Orsay, France.

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2007 was awarded jointly to Albert Fert and Peter Grünberg "for the discovery of Giant Magnetoresistance" which brought about a breakthrough in gigabyte hard disks. He has made many contributions to the field of spintronics.
