Researchers and companies have participated at the workshop devoted to investment issues of the EDI program. This workshop has been held in ALBA Synchrotron, including talks and a visit to ALBA's facilities.
Elena Rico, Director of Operations of Caixa Capital Risc, has analysed the different available options of private funding for research projects with commercial potential. Carlos Arias, CEO of iMicroQ company, has described his own experience, highlighting the successful but also the difficult situations when looking for private funding.
The EDI program, developed by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRi), aims to promote a cultural change in the relationships between the scientific and the industrial worlds to increase the valorization and commercialization of the research results. ALBA is one of the participants in this program with two projects: one from the Computing and other from the Engineering Divisions, and coordinated by the Industrial Office.
