Cerdanyola del Vallès, 8th May 2024 Between April 18 and 19, FUNLAYERS partners joined forces once again to enrol on insightful, hands-on training focused on strengthening the research management capacities and administrative skills of the entities involved in the project.

The activity followed up on a first session held at INL at the beginning of the year, during which the research management practices and administrative processes of the three partner were benchmarked in a comprehensive exercise.

The Follow-up Research Management Workshop held at ALBA Synchrotron aimed at deepening the discussions that arose in the first activity and delved into a set of key aspects:

  • Access to Core Facilities
  • IP & Knowledge Transfer
  • Funding Acquisition & Project Management
  • Research Data Management

The programme encompassed a series of interactive group discussions and the exploration of case studies, ultimately highlighting successful research management practices.

FUNLAYERS - Functional Layered Materials for Advanced Applications - is committed to the study of layered materials for two types of applications: energy storage and spintronics. The discovery, development and fabrication of such materials for the wide range of applications are a challenging enterprise which can only succeed if the right setup of instrumentation and related know-how are available.

The activity held at ALBA was framed under one of the key goals of the project: to Strengthen Research Management Capacities and Administrative Skills of all partners, in particular of INL.

It will result in a comprehensive report and concrete Action Plan to optimise research support activities at INL.
