Led by the president, Carme Forcadell, members of the Parliament's Advisory Council on Science and Technology (CAPCIT) visited the scientific infrastructure.

A group of members of Parliament's Advisory Council on Science and Technology (CAPCIT) has visited the ALBA Synchrotron. The CAPCIT is a joint body, with the presence of members of the Parliament and other bodies representing organizations related to science and technology (among others, the Institute of Catalan Studies, the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation, the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Barcelona, the Catalan Association of Research Institutions, the Catalan universities and the Catalan Council for Scientific Communication).

For more than one hour, the visitors could walk through the experimental hall - where the accelerators and beamlines are installed - and could know in detail the experiments that are being carried out as well as the characteristics of the facility. The visitors were accompanied by the director of the centre, Caterina Biscari, as well as other members of the ALBA Synchrotron management.

This visit is within the framework of the program for institutional relations of the ALBA Synchrotron to increase awareness of the features and applications of the only synchrotron facility in Spain.
