Cerdanyola del Vallés, March 25, 2021. Yesterday the State Secretary for Global Spain (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation), Manuel Muñiz Villa, accompanied by Irene Blázquez Navarro (Head of the Strategic Affairs Office, Department of National Security) and Pablo Benítez Jiménez-Ugarte (Undersecretariat of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation) and Raquel Martín Maestro (communication advisor and member of the cabinet of the State Secretary for Global Spain).
The director of the ALBA Synchrotron, Caterina Biscari, together with Klaus Attenkofer, scientific director, and Alejandro Sánchez, head of the Industrial Liaison Office, accompanied the visitors throughout the facilities explaining its operation and its current state. In addition to visiting some of the beamlines, they had the opportunity to go inside the accelerator's tunnel, as it was a scheduled shutdown day for maintenance.
Muñiz took the opportunity to thank Biscari for her participation in the Spain for Sure campaign. After finishing the visit, they got to discuss Spain's technology diplomacy strategy for the future.
