The ALBA Synchrotron has received today the visit of the General Secretary for Research, Raquel Yotti, and the General Secretary for Research and Universities, Esther Morales, together with their teams.

Cerdanyola del Vallès, 7 October 2021. Today a working meeting took place with different members of the Governing Council of the ALBA Synchrotron. On behalf of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the General Secretary for Research, Raquel Yotti, the General Director for Research Planning, Gonzalo Arévalo, and the General Deputy Director of the ICTS, José Ignacio Doncel participated. On behalf of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the General Secretary for Research and Universities, Esther Morales, and the Director General for Research, Joan Gómez Pallarés, attended.

In a first session, the director of the ALBA Synchrotron, Caterina Biscari, updated the status of ALBA, its latest scientific achievements as well as its future plans and, specifically, the ALBA II upgrade project.

Later on, they could visit ALBA's experimental hall and check the evolution of the new NOTOS and LOREA beamlines, which will soon host official experiments.

During the working meeting where Caterina Biscari updated the status of ALBA, its latest scientific achievements and its future plans.
