ALBA Synchrotron
Sports & Culture, Carpooling
The outside areas of the facility are inviting to enjoy nature and breaks during working days. The building was designed to be integrated with the surroundings. The garden is adapted to the landscape and friendly with the local fauna. It has different areas for the staff to use.
Moreover, since the Synchrotron is located close to the Collserola Natural Park, there are many signposted routes to go for a walk in the area.
ALBA gathers a community with a great variety of people who happen to share leisure and cultural interests. To make the most of this, in 2014 the ALBA Synchrotron’s Sports and Culture Association (SCA) was founded. It promotes among its members leisure, cultural and sports activities among its members: social meetings, organization and participation in sports competitions, short sports courses, cultural trips, conferences, and other cultural visits.
As an environmentally friendly measure, ALBA offers a carpooling network where staff can either offer or find a ride to ALBA by sharing car journeys, which offers an alternative, more economic, transport option.
The facility has its own parking area for cars, motorcycles and bikes. Moreover, it is well connected by cycle lanes to the surrounding towns.
