Abstract
The characterization of magnetic textures at the nanoscale and their static and dynamic properties using polarized soft X-rays has become the benchmark technique due to the unique capabilities of these probes. Images of magnetic domain structures, combined with chemical maps at spatial resolutions down to nearly 10 nm and ultimately in all three dimensions, can be achieved with various X-ray microscopy techniques. Additionally, these techniques can be combined with stroboscopic pump-probe schemes to capture the spin dynamics of magnetic structures.
In this presentation, I will introduce X-ray-based magnetic imaging and provide an overview of various experimental techniques. I will highlight the strengths and limitations of different methods, the flexibility of sample environments, placing a special emphasis on those available at the ALBA Synchrotron Light Facility.
