The symposium aims to showcase the scientific potential offered by synchrotron radiation-based characterization techniques for obtaining fundamental information on the behavior of various materials, especially under in situ and operando conditions. This symposium seeks to emphasize highly relevant scientific fields such as batteries, electrocatalysis, and catalysis/photocatalysis, as research in these areas has significant impact and can help to solve many of the problems faced by our society, such as climate change, as well as aid in steering the shift towards cleaner and more efficient energy vectors.
The symposium aims to attract new researchers from the Spanish and International scientific community to enhance their studies with the experimental techniques provided by synchrotrons in general, and specifically to take advantage of those offered by the ALBA Synchrotron. In this way, this event aims to make this leading Spanish institution, the only synchrotron in Spain located near Barcelona, more accessible and understandable.
We encourage you to submit oral or poster contributions before February 28, which is the deadline for submissions (https://brseq2025.com/en/call-for-abstracts/). We would like to especially encourage young researchers from the following specialized groups of the RSEQ: GEQI, GEQES, and GEE to participate. Each of these groups, which have endorsed this symposium, will fund the early registration for up to two students belonging to these specialized groups, among those who submit a communication to this symposium (oral or poster) through the procedure established on the Biennial Meeting website (Section: Communications), provided that the applicant is listed as the "presenting author."
