Users attending the XI AUSE Conference and VI ALBA Users' Meeting, held at the University of Oviedo in 2024.

We are pleased to invite the ALBA user community to attend the VII ALBA Users' Meeting, to be held on Thursday and Friday 3-4 September 2026 at the ALBA Synchrotron in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona). Registration and call for abstracts are already open.

Following the approval of the ALBA II project, this meeting will place special emphasis on the future capabilities of the facility and the science it will enable. The program will provide updates on the status of ALBA II, as well as presentations on new or upgraded instruments, such as the InCAEM facility and the Beamline Upgrade Program, both of which will expand the facility's capabilities in the coming years. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss extended services making ALBA to the trusted partner which promotes users' future research program.

The meeting will provide users, independent from their career level, a unique opportunity to inform you about ALBA's latest capabilities, exchange scientific experiences and engage directly with the teams shaping the next generation of the facility. Contributions from the user community are warmly encouraged to showcase the excellent research carried out at ALBA, through both oral presentations and posters. The call for abstracts is now open until 30 June 2026.

Early-career researchers play a vital role in shaping the future of Spain and Europe. In this context, we are introducing a new Early Career Distinction Award to recognize outstanding scientific work conducted using ALBA Synchrotron instruments.

Registration is free of charge, and further details are available on the event webpage: VII ALBA Users' Meeting 2026

This meeting, organized in close collaboration with ALBA staff and the AUSE members, reflects ALBA's commitment to building the future of the facility together with its scientific community.
