The 27th European Synchrotron Light Source (ESLS) Workshop was hosted by the ALBA Synchrotron on the 28th and 29th of November. This Workshop, celebrated every year, is the opportunity for the storage ring accelerator community to share the status and the new developments of existing light sources in Europe, as well as to report on the progress of new light sources under construction.

This year, fourteen light sources reported on the status of their facilities, which included running light sources, as well as facilities under design. In addition, one session was dedicated to the development of new Insertion Devices, with five facilities presenting their last designs.

The participants took advantage of the coffee breaks and lunches to interact with each other, holding lively discussions, fostering collaborations and exchanging information.

The ESLS series of Workshop started in 1993 with the aim of providing a forum for discussion within the European Light Sources, since then, not a single year has gone without the Workshop and it is highly valued within the participants.
