The 4th Conference on Advanced Materials in Spain (AMatS 2025) will take place on 24-26 November 2025 at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). This event will bring together researchers and professionals to discuss the latest advancements and perspectives in advanced materials.

The conference will begin with the InCAEM Opening Ceremony at the ALBA Synchrotron, with scientific talks related to the project and a visit to the InCAEM labs. InCAEM (In Situ Correlative Facility for Advanced Energy Materials) is a new cutting-edge research infrastructure at ALBA dedicated to the study of advanced energy materials.

Funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and the Generalitat de Catalunya through the Planes Complementarios program, InCAEM provides unique analytical tools to support research in fields such as batteries, superconducting materials, and industrial catalysts.

Conference program highlights

The scientific program will include 3 plenary lectures, 3 invited talks, 7 oral presentations by the Advanced Materials Plan coordinators, around 50 contributed talks and flash communications, and poster sessions, covering the latest developments in advanced materials.

  • Day 1 (November 24th) – The first morning is the InCAEM Opening Ceremony at the ALBA Synchrotron premises, including a series of talks on the project and other regional programs within the Advanced Materials Plan, discussions on complementary research plans, a guided visit to the InCAEM labs, and a coffee break. The AMatS 2025 conference officially starts in the afternoon at the UAB, with a plenary lecture, a summary of the Advanced Materials Plan by its coordinators, and a welcome cocktail with a poster session.
  • Day 2 (November 25th) – The day features a plenary lecture, multiple contributed and invited talks, interactive poster sessions, and a Gala Dinner in Barcelona.
  • Day 3 (November 26th) – The final day includes additional lectures, discussions, and the awards and closing session. The afternoon will be devoted to a meeting by the Advanced Materials Plan coordinators.

Why attend AMaTs 2025?

AMatS 2025 is a unique opportunity to engage with leading experts in advanced materials, gain insights into cutting-edge research, and explore emerging trends shaping the future of the field. With a program featuring plenary talks, invited lectures, contributed presentations, and poster sessions, participants will have the chance to present their work, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations with researchers from academia, industry, and research institutions.

The conference will also provide information about the InCAEM facility at ALBA Synchrotron, a pioneering infrastructure for in situ correlative studies of energy materials. Additionally, AMatS 2025 will be an excellent occasion for early-career researchers and students to connect with established scientists and benefit from the strong scientific community of the local organizers.

Institutions such as ICMAB-CSIC, ICN2, ALBA Synchrotron, and PIC-IFAE have a long-standing tradition of excellence in materials science and data analysis, offering valuable networking and collaboration opportunities.

Whether you are looking to expand your professional network, discover new research directions, or contribute to discussions on the future of advanced materials, AMatS 2025 offers an engaging and dynamic platform to do so.
