Cerdanyola del Vallés, 18th November 2017.
Last week the first Industry Offices Workshop and Networking meeting, organized by CALIPSOplus and SINE2020, took place in Sitges (Spain). These two European projects bring together 30 synchrotron light and neutron sources across Europe. In this meeting other European projects like EUCALL, NFFA, ACCELERATE, EUSMI and Baltic-TRAM also participated.
The meeting was aimed at removing barriers between these scientific facilities and industries, by helping companies to access them. There were some talks addressed to share experiences and cooperate among Industry Offices. One of them was held on the 15th November from 14 to 18:30 h, where industrial offices presented their projects related to industrial activities. It was a great opportunity for identifying common activities and sharing and exchanging ideas. In other session, celebrated on the 16th November at 8.30h, topics such as joint training sessions for industries (and their advantages) or how technology transfer to industry can be promoted were discussed.
These meetings are key to and share the knowledge, practices and procedures between scientific facilities, allowing the development and improvement of the industry services provided by research infrastructures to companies.
