Last issue of ALBA News magazine is out! In this publication, you will find science highlights and technical developments of ALBA's beamlines and accelerators. The main issue is devoted to the construction of phase-II beamlines including a complete report by Enrique García Michel who describes the characteristics and capabilities of ARPES technique and an interview to Josep Nicolas about the project management of phase-II beamlines.

This issue also contains a report "Science and society", where Jordi Llorca and Núria J. Divins explained in detail their research about catalysts supports which has been recently published in Science, and "The Interview" with Carmen Vela, member of the Council Rector of ALBA and Secretary of State for Research, Development and Innovation.

Addressed to the scientific community interested in the use of synchrotron radiation, ALBA News is a six-monthly magazine with the aim of informing about the main activities of ALBA.
