The new Director will succeed Caterina Biscari, who has been the Director of the ALBA Synchrotron since 2012, and will join ALBA at a highly stimulating and transformative phase of the facility.
The recent approval of its upgrade to a fourth-generation light source, ALBA II, together with the endorsement of long-term funding through 2038, places the facility at a pivotal moment in its evolution, offering a unique opportunity to shape its future.
The Director will be supported by an experienced and deeply committed team of nearly 300 staff members, as well as a lively and growing user community and a network of innovative partner institutions that have contributed to the expansion of the ALBA site.
