During the visit, he had a meeting with members of the management of the ALBA Synchrotron to know how the facility works and their plans for the future with the construction of new beamlines. Afterwards, the group has visited the experimental hall to see the area where the accelerators and beamlines are located, and where experiments are performed in different areas such as materials sciences, life sciences, magnetism, environment, etc.

The President has been accompanied by the secretary of Universities and Research (Mr. Arcadi Navarro), the general director of Research (Mr. Francesc Subirada) and the territorial delegate of the Government (Mr. Miquel Àngel Escobar).
