Aligned with the goals of the IMPRESS Project, focused on developing an innovative interoperable platform for TEM and advancing in-situ and operando experimental approaches, particularly in combination with synchrotron techniques, the School aims to equip participants with the skills necessary to tackle complex research challenges across diverse scientific fields.

The program will emphasize applications in energy materials (e.g. catalysis, electrocatalysis, batteries) while also covering contributions to spintronics and life sciences. Participants will gain insights into techniques including: X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Small-Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS), Synchrotron FTIR, Macromolecular Crystallography, Scanning and Full Field Transmission X-ray Microscopy, X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, X-ray Photoemission Electron Microscopy (XPEEM), X-ray Fluorescence, 3D Structured-illumination Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Scanning and Full-field Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM/TEM).

This School is especially designed for early-stage researchers working in relevant fields who have some experience with operando or correlative experiments, or at least one of the techniques covered. It is particularly suited for those eager to deepen their understanding of advanced synchrotron techniques and integrate these tools into their research.

The IMPRESS Project will cover registration expenses for selected participants, as well as lunches, coffee breaks and a social dinner. To apply, please complete this APPLICATION FORM with your details, including a summary of your research work, your motivation and a specific research challenge, and submit it along with your CV.

For more information and a preliminary list of lectures and session topics, please visit the TRAINING section of the IMPRESS website. For any questions, feel free to contact the Organizers.
