Grupo Unidos por el Canal (GUPC), led by the Spanish company SACYR, completed in 2016 the construction of the third set of locks of the Panama Canal, a fundamental part of the enlargement program carried out by the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) and through which more than 3,000 neopanamax type vessels have transited until now. This work has been classified as one of the most significant construction of this century worldwide, both because of its strategic importance and its volumes as well as the uniqueness of its elements and constructive processes used.

The presentation will include an explanation of how the Management of Mega Infrastructure Projects is carried out, as well as an overview of the main units of this work, both at design, execution and commissioning level.
