Caterina biscari awarded in her hometown

She has been one of the four persons recognized with the "premio alla modicanità" 2016, promoted by the council of the Italian town of Modica (Sicily) which recognizes local personalities from the cultural and social areas.

The ceremony of the 30th edition of the "premio alla modicanità" took place on 19th September 2016 at 21:00 h in the Garibaldi theater of Modica.

Caterina Biscari, director of Synchrotron ALBA was born there, where she spent part of her childhood. Later, she moved to Spain and then to Rome. However she still keeps linked to her place of origin.

Modica is a Sicilian town of 55,000 inhabitants in the province of Ragusa (Italy), located in the area of the Iblei mountains, declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
