Acelerando Electrones closes its first season devoting the 6th program to the scientific profession. Three people who work at ALBA talk about their experience of working in a synchrotron.

Cerdanyola del Vallès, 1st June 2022

The 6th chapter of Acelerando Electrones, the ALBA Synchrotron science podcast, entitled "Being a researcher" is already available on iVoox, Spotify, Google Podcast, Apple Podcasts and Youtube.

To finish this first season, the program talks about the researcher job. Three people who work at ALBA are interviewed in a round table to explain their professional experience and discuss about science careers. You will know what their day to day is like and how they reach their positions.

We will meet Montse Pont, member of the management team and responsible for the operation in the ALBA Coordination Office; Isidro Crespo, biochemist and postdoctoral researcher at XALOC beamline; and Massimo Tallarida, responsible of the last beamline built at ALBA dedicated to research into new materials.

Don't miss it, 20 minutes... Okay. This time the program lasts more than 20 minutes, but it is worth it. 34 minutes to enlighten science!

With this program, Acelerando Electrones closes its first season with great success. In total, the six chapters published to date have more than 13,000 reproductions. The second season will be released in a few months with more topics related to the operation of the ALBA Synchrotron and its applications in multiple fields of research.

Acelerando Electrones is produced in collaboration with Cugat Mèdia and with the support of the Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología. The ALBA Synchrotron is part of the of the Unidades de Cultura Científica y de la Innovación (UCC+i) of the FECYT and has received support through the FCT-20-15798 project.
