Ian Robinson, member of the ALBA Scientific Advisory Committee, has been awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in recognition of his development of diffraction methods for studying surfaces and nanomaterials.

The Gregori Aminoff Prize of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences is intended to reward a documented, individual contribution in the field of crystallography, including areas concerned with the dynamics of the formation and determination of crystal structures.

Ian Robinson is professor at the London Centre for Nanotechnology, University College London and BBSRC Professorial Diamond Fellow at RCaH and member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of ALBA.

The Aminoff prize will be awarded at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences' Annual meeting on 31st March 2015.
