Lina Gálvez, MEP of the Spanish Socialist Delegation (PSOE), visited the ALBA Synchrotron together with its director, Caterina Biscari, and other members of the management, last July 21st.

The Member of the European Parliament, Lina Gálvez, visited ALBA's facilities last Thursday. She was accompanied by ALBA's Director, Caterina Biscari, together with the Head of the Administration Division, Edgar Aigner; the Scientific Director, Klaus Attenkofer; the Head of the Accelerator Division, Francis Pérez; and the Head of the Industrial Office, Alejandro Sánchez; who explained her the operation of the facility, its applications and the current status of the beamlines and accelerators.
Gálvez had the opportunity to walk along the walkway over the accelerators and visit different beamlines such as LOREA, CLAESS, CIRCE, MISTRAL or XALOC, where scientific experiments are carried out in fields like chemistry, environmental sciences, nanotechnology, biochemistry or biomedicine. She also discovered new ALBA equipment such as the Electron Microscopy Center, which hosts two microscopes financed with cooperative FEDER funds and belonging to several collaborating institutes; or the new beamlines that will soon be in operation.
